Embark on an adventurous tour of Los Haitises National Park and why not visit one of the highest points of the land in the Caribbean, Montana Redonda.

A day trip to Los Haitises National Park is the ideal excursion for nature enthusiasts and first-time visitors. Discover Dominican culture, enjoy a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation, and explore beautiful limestone caves on an ecotourism excursion from Punta Cana. We'll also go to Montana Redonda (Rounded Mountain), which is 1,000 feet above sea level. You'll be able to take in a 360-degree panoramic view that will leave you speechless.

What you’ll do

  1. Pickup at your resort

    Guests are picked up from their hotel lobby in Punta Cana or Bávaro. Headcount is verified before departure.

  2. Transfer to Miches and Sabana de la Mar

    Ride in an air-conditioned bus along the scenic coastal highway toward the fishing town of Miches, then to the port of Sabana de la Mar.

  3. Boat ride to Los Haitises National Park

    Board a motorboat to explore the park’s mangroves, limestone formations, and bird islands with your certified local guide.

  4. Visit caves and learn Taino history

    Stop at two caves featuring ancient petroglyphs and carvings. Your guide shares stories about the Taino people and local wildlife.

  5. Lunch and swim at Paraíso Caño Hondo

    Enjoy a Dominican-style buffet lunch with rice, beans, meats, and fresh fruit. Guests may swim in natural spring pools afterward.

  6. Climb Montaña Redonda

    Transfer by safari truck to the summit for panoramic views of Laguna Limón, Laguna Redonda, and the Atlantic coastline.

  7. Return transfer

    Descend the mountain and return by bus to your hotel in Punta Cana or Bávaro.
